Chrysler

Chrysler - People With all the talk recently about the bankruptcy of Chrysler Corporation, Jeanette and I decided to take our sketchbooks yesterday Rhinebeck Car Show to watch Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler.

We sat next to each other on folding chairs. Jeanette got out his pen and watercolor and sketched Dodge 1961 and 1958 Plymouth Fury, a bit exaggerated to bring out their personality.

I liked the idea, so I tried to graft cars on the bodies of people walking. I noticed fragments of conversations that I heard.

In 1958, America seemed to be caught between memories of the war, fears of nuclear devastation, and dreams of space, and that zeitgeist is written on the cars' faces .

Perhaps Chrysler will bounce back to life as a 'toon car. Let's hope so. Maybe the key to business success is to put a little more personality in car models.

More details on this blog about the zeitgeist and automobiles names.
