I painted this observation oil study to investigate how actual weather bronze surfaces. Note how the plans upfacing the brim of the hat, the back and the front are oxidized to a light blue-green color. The hollow and downfacing weather planes differently as this photo shows. Instead of being entirely covered with a light blue-green oxidation, plans to lower tend to be darker and more brown. Indeed, the downfacing planes are exposed to less rain. The top of the ball is also sheltered from the rain and lack of oxidation. Wherever airplanes are facing the drop, water is forced to flow in rivulets fixed. Every brook becomes an oxidation line.
You can play with this. This bronze head of the title page of Dinotopia: Journey to Chandara was completely invented. Cheeks rivulets almost look like the path of tears.
If the statue is in a public area, prominent forms are often polished to a golden radiance of contact with the hands (or cache) passers
as the rainwater drains off the statue, dissolved oxides leave stains on the white marble below
