So the thought came to me yesterday. I was doing my portrait sketches and quick drawing yesterday and I realized my brain turned to mush. Not that it was not useful; both classes are, but I just realized that I have more fun. It really started me just before I went to bed when I thought consciously to just have the fun drawing. I felt I could not even do that, because I just started looking at my proportions and online work and other technical things.
How do you keep all the art of manufacturing become a chore, and remember to have fun, especially as a professional artist? Fun Missing
Dear Missing :.
This is a good question. We can get so wrapped up in the technical stuff that we lose sight of the pleasure of art, things that we're hooked on drawing first.
What I used to do to get out of the occasional blunt the effect of the study of art was drawing to go to the zoo or to bring my sketchbook at boxing match or the bus station. One thing that makes the art of pleasure is to use it to connect with the experiences and unusual encounters.
If you can use some of these sketches and portrait quick skills to draw an interesting character you meet, your brain instantly come into focus.
I think it also helps if you can still work on personal paintings driven by your most emotions deep, whatever those emotions are. for photos, put your attention on the feeling you want the paint to pass. you do not have to show them to anyone. Listen to your favorite music while you work on them, and let intuition take over. Rationalism and analysis can help you grow your business, but you have to stoke the fire of your inner artist too.
