so I get out of my kind of default choice for the reading pleasure and picked this wonderful book on the day of release, March 11 and immediately completed in 24 hours.

This book, you guys. I loved it so much.

But before I start blabbering about how wonderful it is, here is the Goodreads Summary for Only The Good Die Young by KK Hendin:
" the first year of college is supposed to be about parties, parties, and get the hell out of Texas. Instead, Milcah Daniels spends his eighteen years in and out of hospitals in Houston. Her hair fall, they cut off her breasts, and if it does so at nineteen, she will be considered as a personal miracle.
Breast cancer does have a way of playing with social calendar of a girl.
When Milcah temporarily evacuated from the hospital, she is determined to get a tattoo for each medical procedure she had. His quest leads him to Skin Stories, a new tattoo parlor a block from his apartment. And it's infuriating sexy artist Callum Scott.
Callum is Milca wants, and what she should not have now. A new relationship when the official prognosis is one to five years is a terrible idea. But Callum does not know about breast cancer, and Milcah does not turn to say.
But when the doctor says that things are actually in the positive research, his life turns upside down. How is she supposed to start living again when she finally learned to accept his death? "
So, as I indicated at the top of the post, I usually do not read much contemporary romanticism, but it does not matter, because Only The Good Die Young kept my interest from the first to the last page.

Basically, this book was sweet.

the voice of Milka is fantastic. It is absolutely perfect for NA-full snark made me giggle more than once, yet very honest and real. His thoughts and attitudes are not always enough, and is not even always a character quite friendly (in fact, it was a bit exasperating several times), but I do not mind honestly because his world view was so interesting and his voice is super fun to read everything.

Then there is Callum.

Callum jumped on my list of favorite small literary friends. It's sexy as hell (I mean, hello beautiful tattoo artist) and as adorable and as thoughtful and basically I loved from the beginning and do not stop love him always.

Overall Only The Good Die Young is a fantastic example of NA fiction and I will essentially always recommend to anyone curious about the category. So go read it.

I want more of NA recommendations. Throw them my way, people!
