In spring 1991, I invited a bunch of friends to pose for a painting of a dinosaur called Olympic Event Riders Ring. The painting appeared in Dinotopia: A field outside of time,
Each child chose what they wanted hat or cap to wear. I played both actor and director while my wife Jeanette worked the camera.
A mom has a bunch of pastries and delivered them. I used this time in the final table.
Use chairs and cushions and cardboard rings as accessories, the children took their positions, imagining they were on the backs of dinosaurs. It helped when I acted out first, hamming it a bit to try to get them to loosen.
A group with mismatched outfits and with different levels of enthusiasm acted on the part of the crowd watching the sporting event. I'm sure they could sympathize with modern actors who emote in front of a greenscreen.
This form of acting group works particularly well with youth. moments of chance and improvisation can take your design to another level.
