Meanwhile lunch ... -
I always get tired of the classic restaurant my life. There are still about a delay of 15-20 minutes between the time the order goes in when the food is on the table. The deadline focuses the mind better than coffee does.


The bottle of humble ketchup, sugar shaker, towel and creamer are an interesting challenge to paint, because they offer a variety of transparent surfaces and reflective: stainless steel, glass and paper. And there catsup crawling on the side of the bottle, back-lit and heated with transmitted light.

What interested me this time were the two colors of light on the subject. To the left was a cold light from the window, which mostly overlooked the blue sky. The light inside was a relatively hot compact fluorescent lamp. So my first move after placement in the subject in pencil was to establish a ghost wash to establish the overall fresh and hot statement, taking care to paint around the strengths.

Technical Notes :. Painting is made with half a pan watercolor set in a watercolor book . I used two brushes watercolor dishes :. 1 inch and 1/4 inch, with a few dark accents of watercolor crayons
