the truth about writing advice is that everything is subjective. All. (Except maybe that).

I have now written more than 350 posts, most of which involve some sort of advice or thoughts on writing, the process of writing and the novel-publishing world. And sometimes, as is bound to happen when you write on a particular subject over the past two years, I look back on old posts and think is interesting. I x differently now.

The writing is so subjective that sometimes I do not even adhere to the same advice I gave it two years ago. And it will not it make them less useful, it is simply because I have learned to do things a little differently.

I guess the point I am making is that nothing is set in stone. Just because I (or any other blogger writes there) has a particular technique, or an opinion or an idea that works really well for them, does not mean that if not work for you, you 're somehow less wide. Almost all write rules or trend out there is an exception, even several exceptions. Take everything you read with a grain of salt.

For every wonderful program, application or technology that fifty writers rave about, it was fifty writers who are not working perfectly for them.

For each opinion or advice I share, I know there are some out there who disagree or find useless tip and is entirely correct.

writing is subjective, and the authors all work differently. There is no one right or wrong way and there is not a magical process that will ensure success.

There are just writers like me to understand things as we go, and sharing what we learn along the way. And if it helps, wonderful, and if it does not, which is quite good, too. Just keep doing what you do and especially :. Write

I'm curious: where do you get your writing tips? Favorite blogs / sites / books / etc?
