In his own mind at least, he was an interpreter, sports figure, the first man, comedian, comic artist, published author, and, oh yes, painter. This him a difficult candidate for the old TV game show "What's My Line?" Where contestants tried to guess the occupation of a person does.
Notice how cleverly it sizes the room early, then keeps a straight sprezzatura after.
