Schoty and his pal Ankylosaurus Soroban merchants help with their arithmetic using a giant abacus mounted on the back of Soroban. Schoty can reach with his wooden stick to move the red beads back and forth in the wooden frame. The abacus here looks like the Chinese version, although other types of abacus occur elsewhere. In fact, the names "Schoty" and "Symbolic Math Toolbox" are Russian and Japanese words for "abacus."
