I like to read books about feelings and relationships. During our morning meeting, I read "Penguin and Pinecone" and I got all the attention. Children were drawn to how Penguin fed Pinecone taking it to where it belonged. Friendships are new and special to 3 years. Many of our themes include friendship activities.

When preschool children brought their pinecones to class, we placed them on a tray on our science shelf.

We noticed how different each was, as we all different.

We collected during our morning meeting and I read the book. We then collected our pinecones and has to s table.

We white paint applied to our pinecones.

We then shook glitter on them for a little sparkle.

And yes, glitter has a way of spreading….

And we now frosted pinecones.

Each one as unique as the child who has it.
