Rococo River Song

Rococo River Song -

My Time of Angels River Song Francaise dress hand-sewn by Laura Ulak and Lis Kester.

This was supposed to be a copy of River Song of black dress. Somehow the words "18th century" were involved, and before I knew that my friends and I have been sewing a dress French version at the Gallifrey convention without using sewing machines. It is sewing people.

I introduced along certain heavy fabric wrinkle- Free poly for this dress, but that idea was quickly abandoned because the weight would push down on the bags. During our adventures shopping we came across a beautiful silk fabric false for only $ 4.99 a yard trim and matching for about $ 2 / courtyard. The fabric is woven so that someone took Gallifrey for real silk! Eight yards, two friends and three sleepless nights later, I had a new dress.

The fabric sheer sleeves was the overskirt of my costume Clockwork DaVinci. I made the stomacher a fabric square piece bought in Phoenix AZ for $ 5.The glasses were purchased at Michaels for $ 3. The point laser derringer (there is a * uckin LaSer!) Has been purchased at a local flea market for $ 10. Marie Antoinette style wig was $ 20 online. Shoes - dear gods in the sky shoes - were a good find on 6pm.com. No dye shoes for me. Well, at least not for this suit.

Total cost of this costume including shoes around $ 155. Without shoes = $ 95. Grateful lunches around $ 50. Not murdered at the hands of friends and wear my dream dress Gally = Priceless.

I did the cotton lining bodice down to the test and sewing needles would struggle to pass through the fabric. A couple of times actually folded in two sewing needles! I was asked if the lining was made of Gortex, and I'm sure they murmured about where would be the best place to bury my body. The last pic is a crazy Lis ready to strangle me with my own plate.
