therefore, there is this floating position around the post Huffington has enabled some massive internal raging.

I'm not going to link to it, because I do not want to give him a free extra traffic, but if you are so inclined, it is fairly easy to find on Twitter, because it involves tell JK Rowling to stop writing adult books because it is hogging all the success, but it is ok for her kid to write on because these books are not as well still. Yes.

As much as I want to rage about why kidlit is equally important that the adult literature, I know I'm preaching to the choir here, so I will focus on something as important ( and a little less screamy).

the thing that some people, especially people outside the publishing industry tend to forget is that there is room for everyone to succeed. In fact, the mega-success of an author is actually good for everyone.

Think about it.

J. K. Rowling Take, for example. The Harry Potter series was one of the first major titles enlightened crossover kid who blew the door wide open for other successful kid lit. Why? Well, let's take a look.

Harry Potter , as we all know, sold incredibly well. Incredibly x million. Immensely successful books means more money for the then-publishers who have more money to buy more books of writers and give more chance debut, more money for libraries, which were then run less risk of falling and burning like borders, and more money for authors who, quite frankly, deserve their success. But there is not the huge success money books are the direct result of more people to read.

Why more people read a good thing, you ask? I can not even tell you how many people I heard say, "I did not like reading, but I loved [insert popular book title here]" successful books show people who do not think. they loved reading reading can actually be great. successful books are getting more people buy books, and guess what? Many times when they finish reading said successful book, they seek another book . Because maybe reading is not so bad after all and they'll love the next book, as well as this book successfully they have just read.

time and again, books to success proved that they help so much more than the author.

on Twilight series has the spotlight down on YA lit

the Hunger Games series has opened the door to a variety of fantastic dystopian novels, for example, a small series called divergent.

The 50 Shades of Grey series has given a huge boost to erotic sales.

All of these books has created new readers-people who do not really read much before because they thought they would not want it and changed my mind after reading this book successfully. And what is good for everyone, because more readers = more book sales, and more sales of books = good news for writers.

See, this huge aspect of the publishing world that I love, we can truly be happy for the success of each other, even (and especially) crazy-massive success, because they are good news for everyone. Books are not a market like cars or laptops or iPads where the customer buy one for several years. The success of a book opens the door to the success of many others, and for me, that is one of the many things that makes this community so incredibly wonderful.

So, let's cut the jealousy and bitterness and just be happy and support each other, OK? There is no need for negativity in this amazing community that I will always love.

What do you think?
