Bama Works Personal

Bama Works Personal -
Flesk Publications produced a new book titled James Bama: Personal work which focuses on portraits of Bama in China and other exotic locations.

Bama, born in New York in 1926, was a successful illustrator Cooper Studios and later became a freelance paperback book covers. With a large number contemporaries, he retired from the illustration and is dedicated to chronicling the face of the American West.

But throughout he loved to visit China, Japan, Tibet, and Mexico. Exotic faces and costumes he met there worked their way through a series of 67 oil portraits he created for his own satisfaction, as the gallery market for these paintings was not necessarily a given .

Western portraits is like Bama, they are painted with warm, limited range of oil colors, and they have, anxious faces steep with lots of character.

The book was born of a planned 112 pages to 144 pages John Fleskes more actively involved in writing the introductory essays, and added 24 photos Bama personal collection. The result is a 9 x 12 inch hardcover book lovingly produced on high quality stock. The cover price is $ 45.00
