Support Oblique Pen

Support Oblique Pen - The script lettering in Dinotopia: Journey to Chandara was done by hand with a steel dip pen.

The lettering style is based on Roundhand scripts of the late 18th century, which were written with a quill pen. Examples of standard reference for these forms were engraved in copper plates, giving style the general name "Copperplate."

The lines have a steep slope, and they are thicker on the descent. This requires heavier pressure as you pull the pen toward you. These heavier shots are called "shades", so this type of lettering is also called a "shady script."

Because of the variation in pen pressure, it is slower to build than most later American "Spencerian" and "Palmer" script styles, which are relatively less shady.

to be able to control the pressure and therefore the spread of the nib such a slope extreme, a right turn as needed oblique me or "shifted" penholder, also called an "elbow pen." cheap plastic pen holder work perfectly well, but I prefer the right one that I carved from a small shrub to custom-fit my fingers
