Fixing the first page Giveaway # 25 -

incredibly, we have reached the halfway point of July and August is on its way, which means it's really friggin 'HOT. (Seriously, I'm used to balmy, cool summers in my state and this year was the worst.)

But much happier news, it also means it is time for the twenty-fifth fixing the function of the first page!

for those who missed before, fixing the first page of features is a critical public first 250 words. Using the widget rafflecopter lovely, anyone interested in earning public (as presented in a post on this blog) critical first page can enter.

For an example of this criticism will look like, here is the last fixing of the first publication page.

Rules!

  • only the first 250 words will be criticized (up finishing the sentence). If you earn more and send me, I will reframe myself. No exceptions.

  • Only the first page. I do not want 250 random words in your script, or Chapter 3. If you win critics and send me anything but the first 250 words of your manuscript, I'll choose someone else.

  • I actually criticize him. Here. On the blog. I say things as well as I can, but I tend to be a bit blunt. If you are not sure you can handle public criticism, then you may want to take some time to think before entering.

  • kind of restrictions. I am more experienced with YA & NA, but I'll still accept MG and adults. HOWEVER. If your first page has an erotic content on it, I ask that you do not enter. I want to be able to view and critique the first 250 in its entirety without making anyone uncomfortable, and if you win and you enter a page with erotic content, I will choose someone other.

  • You should have your first page ready. If you win, you must be able to submit your first page in 48 hours, you contact me to inform you that you have won. If 48 hours pass and I have not heard from you again, I will choose someone else.

  • You will get the most out of this if it is a first draft. Obviously, I have no way of knowing if you are handing me a first draft (although I'll probably suspect because it is usually not difficult to tell). I will not refuse your page if it is a first draft, but you should know that this criticism may be more useful if you have already had your beta / CPs look over. Why? Because if you do not, the criticism that I give you probably contain a large number of notes that your betas and CPs could have / would have told you.

  • There will not be a 2nd round (unless you win again in a future contest). I hate to say this, but if you win a criticism, it is not an invitation to send me a bunch of your revisions. I wish I had the time available to be able to review the revisions, but unfortunately I do not. If you try to break this rule, I will say no, and also remember to choose someone else should win you a second competition. What would make me sad. (

So if you agree with all the above and wish to enter the twenty-second public review on scriptural, do the thing with the widget rafflecopter below! . You have until Wednesday, July 20th at 11:59 ET to enter!
