Croque Monsieur ... King sandwich open face!

Croque Monsieur ... King sandwich open face! - easier to make that decision (caw-my-sir), it is most famous sandwich open to the world. According to my French sandwich sources (Wikipedia) the name is based on the verb bite, "to bite greedily," and the word gentleman means "sir." So I guess it basically translates to "bite avidly Sir!" And if you make this delicious open face Delight you'll know why. Also, I'm sure it's the same if you are a lady or miss.

There are many versions, but mine is slices of round, crusty French bread (leaven the pain) topped with our cheese, béchamel thyme homemade (left above our soufflé cheese recipe video), covered with ham, tomato and cheese, and golden brown and cooked through. How do you say "die" in French? I won this version of a French bakery here in San Francisco called Tartine, which has lines of people out the door waiting for these beauties out of the oven. Good Appetite!!

Ingredients:
4 thick slices of bread
1/2 cup béchamel cheese
